LOS ANGELES, Calif. ?- The 23rd-ranked Arizona women’s soccer team (9-6-3 overall, 4-3-1 Pac-10) fell to the 4th-ranked UCLA Bruins (16-1-2 overall, 6-0-2 Pac-10) in double overtime, 2-1.

The Bruins opened the scoring at 39:01 when Christina DiMartino placed the ball in the net from 20 yards out.

The Wildcats tied the game in the 50th minute. Freshman London King scored off of an assist from senior Mallory Miller.

With the scored notched at one-a-piece, the teams went into overtime.

After a scoreless first overtime, UCLA’s McCall Zerboni scored the game winning goal off of a deflection with a little over five minutes remaining in the second overtime.

The Wildcats’ game against UCLA will be televised on Fox Sports Net. The game will be aired on tape delay and shown regionally at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10 and 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12.

“I thought we played very well,” Tobias said. “Just didn’t put away some of our chances. We were able to score a nice goal early in the second half. We missed some breakaways and open net opportunities.”

“The stats are deceiving,” Tobias explained. “We had some good quality chances. They scored the winning goal right at the end. The result was unfortunate, but I thought we performed very well.”

“We will turn around and be prep for Sunday,” Tobias continued. “USC is another excellent team ahead of us. “

The Wildcats will take on USC on Sunday, Nov. 6 in their final regular season match of the season. Kickoff is set for 12:45 p.m. (PDT).
