AUSTIN, Texas - During day one of the Texas Hall of Fame Invitational in Austin, Arizona swimming showed a plethora of swift times, highlighted by the men's 200 freestyle and 400 medley relays, achieving NCAA automatic cut times in each.


In the opening 200 freestyle relay, the men's foursome of Adam Small, Kelley Wyman, Mitchell Friedemann and Cam Owen were on fire, posting the automatic time of 1:17.66 to take first place. 


The women's all-freshman 200 free relay placed second with Margo Geer, Kait Flederbach, Grace Finnegan and Aubrey Peacock posting a runner-up time of 1:28.87.


Alyssa Anderson and Monica Drake went 1-2 in the women's 500 free with Anderson turning in a NCAA automatic time of 4:37.94, by far the fastest time posted in the country thus far.


Cory Chitwood won the 200 I.M. with an NCAA automatic time of 1:43.47 while teammate Austen Thompson wasn't far behind, recording a 1:44.83 to place runner-up.


Geer, UA's speedy sprinter, claimed the women's 50 free with a first-place time of 22.16, also the fastest in the country.


For the men's splash-n-dash, junior Adam Small recorded a first-place time of 19.32, besting the Longhorns' Jimmy Feigen who was runner-up at 19.67.


In the women's 400 medley relay, Sarah Denninghoff, Ellyn Baumgardner, Dana Christ and Margo Geer placed runner-up to Texas with a time of 3:34.00.


On the men's side, the 400 medley relay of Chitwood, Kevin Munsch, A.J. Tipton and Nimrod Shapira Bar-Or notched the second auto-relay cut with a first-place time of 3:08.16.
