Arizona Athletics will provide a free video webcast of Saturday's Wildcat baseball game against UNLV to allow troops stationed overseas an opportunity to experience a taste of home and view greetings from local family members attending the game.
The online event is in honor of "DM Day" at Arizona baseball, which will celebrate the contributions and sacrifices of troops and their families based at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson. Service men and women and base personnel will receive a special UA/DM baseball cap that will also be worn by the UA baseball team during the game.
In addition, base commander Colonel Michael W. Spencer will throw out the first pitch, the DM honor guard will present the colors and Airman Karen Adado will sing the National Anthem.
Families in attendance will be able to send greetings to friends, loved ones and colleagues serving abroad between innings via the video webcast. During the seventh inning stretch, Chief Talley will lead the crowd in singing “Take Me Out To The Ball Game.”
Saturday's game begins at 6 p.m. (MST), with the webcast beginning at 5:50 p.m.
The free webcast can be accessed from the Arizona Athletics home page or from the Live Webcasts page.
