PLEASE NOTE
Construction on the new state-of-the-art practice facility and renovation of the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center and Mary Roby Gymnastics Training Center will begin this December 2006, closing off most of the McKale Lawn during next year’s football season (2007).  Subsequently, we will not be able to offer renewals next year to customers who are new pass holders for the 2006 season. However these pass holders will be automatically put on a waiting list for season passes in 2007

RESERVED TENT TAILGATING (parties of 100 or more people)
Reserved Tent tailgate spaces will be available for large tailgate parties (minimum 100 people). Packages include a reserved tailgate space, parking permits, tent, tables, plastic table covers, plastic chairs (set-up of tables and chairs not included) and garbage cans (not all tables and chairs fit underneath tent.) Pricing starts at $1400. Please call 520-621-0800 for further information.

FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED TAILGATING (spaces assigned in the order vehicles arrive, parked one next to the other)
Renewals: 2006 Football Tailgating First-Come, First-Served season pass renewals have been mailed.  All 2005 season pass holders will have until
June 30, 2006 to renew their existing pass/es. Passes renewed by the June 30 deadline will be assigned to the grass areas on the UA Mall, Gittings Lawn, or McKale Lawn.  Spaces will be confirmed once payment is received. Passes will then be mailed on August 11 with season tickets. Please call or visit the McKale Ticket Office at 520-621-2287 for further information.

2006 Season Pass Cost (7 games)

  • Regular (30’ and under):  $330
  • RV (over 30’):  $420

New Orders:  After 2005 season pass holders have had the opportunity to renew their existing pass/es, any available new season passes will go on sale beginning August 4, 2006. Due to the scheduled construction and loss of future tailgate spaces, new season passes will be non-renewable for the 2007 season.   If not sold out, single game tailgate passes will go on sale beginning August 14, 2006.  Due to the limited space and an anticipated high renewal rate, it is possible that the only space available for individual game passes will be located on surface parking lots outside the central Mall grass areas.  The specific location and price of these passes is to be determined. Spaces will be confirmed once payment is received and permits will then be mailed to the pass holder. Please call or visit the McKale Ticket Office at 520-621-2287 for further information or to order your pass/es.

Tailgate permits ordered within ten days of the game must be picked up at the McKale Ticket Office.

FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED TAILGATING POLICIES

Tailgating Access & Passes

ALL vehicles will be required to display their Tailgate pass.  If a vehicle does not have a pass, it will NOT be allowed onto the tailgate grounds. First-come, first-served passes will not be replaced if lost. The University of Arizona is not responsible for the loss or theft of personal belongings.

Tailgating Hours

The tailgating area will open five (5) hours prior to kick-off.  All tailgate areas must be cleared within one hour after the conclusion of the game.

Tailgating Entrance

When entering the tailgating area please approach south on Cherry Ave. from Speedway Blvd. ?- this causes the least amount of traffic congestion for everyone. Please keep in mind that the streets surrounding the tailgating area close to traffic two (2) hours prior to game time due to pedestrian traffic. Please note that there will be additional traffic restrictions during Homecoming.

Rain

In the event of heavy rain, it is possible that parking will not be allowed on the lawn or that tailgating may be cancelled. Refunds will not be given due to inclement weather.

Tailgate Size

The pass holder is limited to the designated space of his/her tailgate. The fire lane located in the center of the tailgating rows is for the safety of everyone, and must be kept clear of all obstructions.

For tailgates under 30 feet, the space size is 10 feet off one side of the vehicle and 30 feet from the front of the vehicle to the back of the space.

For tailgates over 30 feet, the space is 10 feet off one side of the vehicle and approximately 45 feet from the front of the vehicle to the back of the space.

Please note that the side of the vehicle will be determined from the front passenger or driver’s side wheel. If a vehicle has slide outs, the slide outs will not be able to be used if they protrude out from the designated tailgate space.  Exact space is not guaranteed and may be adjusted slightly to accommodate more Tailgaters on high capacity games such as Homecoming.

Tailgate Capacity

The overall attendance of a tailgate may not exceed the space provided.  Should attendance become so large that the guests (invited guests or “walk-ins”) cannot be confined to the designated tailgate space, it may be shut down.  The pass holder is responsible for policing uninvited guests and should notify the UA Tailgating Staff if there are uninvited guests who refuse to leave their area.

Catering & Tent Company Deliveries

If you are planning on renting pop-up tents, additional chairs, tables, or catering, please note that delivery vehicles are not allowed in the first-come, first-served area.  Delivery drop-offs are allowed outside of the tailgating area. Please make sure that you have a pick-up time and place prearranged so as not to interfere with tailgating traffic. Catering vehicles are not allowed in the first-come, first-served area regardless of the possession of a catering permit. All tents being used must be set up by the pass holder; there will be no set up of tents in advance to the beginning of tailgating.

Restrooms

Port-A-Johns are available on the UA Mall, Gittings Lawn and the McKale Lawn.

Generators

No generators are allowed in the first-come, first-served tailgating area.

Corporate Signage
Corporate tailgate parties are encouraged and are limited to hospitality functions only.  Only UA Athletics approved corporate partners may conduct sampling, distribute promotional materials or engage in any other type of promotional activity on the tailgate grounds.  All corporate signage (including banners, logo tents, flags, etc.) in the tailgating area must be approved by the Athletics Department staff prior to game day.  For more information on corporate tailgates and signage approval please call (520) 621-0800.
