Friday’s Match Data: The Wildcats (0-0, 0-0 Pac-12) open up the spring season with two home matches. On Friday, the Wildcats will host the NAU Lumberjacks (0-0, 0-0 Big Sky).

Tennis Reunion: On Friday, the Wildcats will host a reunion of letter winners. Henneries include assistant coaches Tom Lloyd and Frank Chen as well as men’s and women’s players dating back to 1962.

LaNelle Robson Tennis Center: This weekend’s matches will be held on Arizona’s home courts. LaNelle Robson Tennis Center was dedicated in 1991 and is home to 17 lit courts, a center-court grandstand and a permanent canopy over the stands.

Arizona Head Coach Tad Berkowitz enters his eighth season as the head coach of the Wildcats. During the 2008-09 season he was named the Pac-10 Men's Tennis Coach of the Year and the Wilson/ITA West Region Coach of the Year. Last season, he led the Wildcats to a 9-14 overall record. He joined the program in 2004 and has held numerous national and collegiate coaching positions. He was promoted to the head coaching position in the spring of 2005 after serving as hall-of-famer Bill Wright's assistant. Berkowitz was a top collegiate player for the Universities of Kentucky and New Mexico, respectively.

Super Seven: Arizona returns seven player from the 2011-2012 season. Juniors Giacomo Miccini, Kieren Thompson, Mario Urquidi, and Andre Vidaller return as the most experienced members of the team. Sophomores Carlos Bermudez, Robin Chou and Sumeet Shinde also return as key contributors.

Fresh Four: The Wildcats welcome four new players to the 2013 roster. Freshman Naoki Takeda and junior transfer Fred Ask.

Last Season: The Cats look to the experience of the seven returning players to improve on a 5-18 (0-7 Pac-12) record.

The Series vs. NAU: This will be the 27th meeting of the two schools with Arizona holding a 25-1 advantage over the Lumberjacks.

The Last Meeting: On Jan. 21, 2012 the Wildcats blanked the Jacks in their season opener. The Cats claimed the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. In singles action, Giacomo Miccini, Carlos Bermudez, Andre Vidaller, Sumeet Shinde, Mario Urquidi and Kieren Thompson walked away with wins to clinch the match, 7-0.

Scouting the Lumberjacks: This will be the first match for NAU in the spring season.

Sunday’s Match Data: In their second match of the weekend the Cats (0-0, 0-0 Pac-12) will take on Nevada (0-0, 0-0 Mountain West).

The Series vs. Nevada: This will be the ninth meeting of the two schools with Arizona holding a 6-2 advantage over the Wolf Pack.

The Last Meeting: On Jan. 25, 2009 the Wildcats topped Nevada, 6-1, at LaNelle Robson Tennis Center. The Cats claimed all three doubles matches and went on to win five of six singles matches.

Scouting the Wolf Pack: Nevada takes on UC Irvine on Tuesday in their first match of the spring season.
