TUCSON - Two former members of the University of Arizona Wildcat women's golf team will participate in graduation activities this weekend. Alejandra Llaneza and Brittany Benvenuto will receive their undergraduate degrees during Saturday's commencement activities.
"We are very proud of Alejandra and Brittany," head coach Laura Ianello said. "Not only were they outstanding collegiate golfers but they were also very dedicated to their studies. We're honored to call them alumni and wish them the best in the future."
Llaneza, whose eligibility concluded after the 2010-11 season, and Benvenuto, who ended her playing career with the Wildcats after the 2009-10 season, will both receive degrees in interdisciplinary studies. Both players were part of Arizona's 2010 Pac-10 Championship and fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
Current senior Margarita Ramos will be participating in ceremonies this weekend and will receive her degree in May. The NCAA Regional Championships will be contested the same weekend as the spring commencement exercises. Seniors Nikki Koller and Isabelle Boineau are also on track to receive diplomas in May.
