...The University of Arizona football team held their second practice at Rincon Vista complex Tuesday evening. The Wildcats worked out for two and half hours. “Again I couldn’t be more please how we’ve practice over the course of the past two days... We’re progressing nicely... We’re doing a lot of different thing ?- we’re moving the right way and the kids are picking up things well,” said Head Coach Mike Stoops...


...Quarterbacks sophomore Kris Heavner and sophomore Ryan O’Hara shared the majority of the passing load Tuesday. Heavner was 8-of-9 passes, while O’Hara was 7-of-8 passes, in the skeleton-style passing drills against the linebackers and defensive backs...


...Junior Brad Woods continues to impress Head Coach Stoops by being an overall player, “He does everything well, we just have to find the right spot. We’re moving him around a bit...He’s kind of a wild card for us...He give us a lot of different looks...We just have to find the right spot for him,” Stoops said...


...Additionally Stoops was impressed with freshman wide receiver Bobby McCoy from Houston, Texas. The defensive backs and the offensive line also impressed Stoops...


...Senior offensive tackle Brandon Phillips, who is coming off a season ending injury, is good to go Stoops told reporters, “Brandon is full go, he’ll have to sit out three games with the NCAA, but he will practice and prepare to play,” he added Tuesday...


...Head Coach Mike Stoops said the team was committed to their work ethic and getting better, “Committed to what they are doing and committed to their execution ?- taking more pride in the way they play week in and week out ... That’s all we can ask as coaches give us a good effort and try to learn to play this game and to be in position to make plays...Again we feel it takes no talent to play hard and know what to do,” he said after practice Tuesday...


...Senior defensive end Andre Torrey said the practices are intense, but they like it. In addition to Torrey, senior strong safety Tony Wingate explained “We’ve been working harder than in all my four years here. We have a whole new attitude and passion,” to reporters after practice...


...Sophomore quarterback Kris Heavner said he was ready to lead the team and has a different outlook compared to his freshman season, “I was wide eyed and it was real different from I feel I have confidence knowing what is going on and ready to start rolling through the season. I’m ready to lead, that’s what a quarterback is a general on the field,” he told reporters on Tuesday...


...The team will return to Rincon Vista complex at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday for their third practice of their fall training camp...
