TUCSON—The Arizona soccer team finished their season with a 3-0 loss to Oregon State Sunday at Murphey Field at Mulcahy Stadium.

Arizona, who ends the season with a 4-15-1 overall record, 1-8 in conference honored their five senior players, goalie Devon Wharf, midfielder/defender Samantha Drees, forward/midfielder Jasmine Namdar, midfielder Macke Mutz, and forward/defender Analisa Marquez.

“Congratulations to our seniors,” said co head coach Lisa Oyen, “We are honored that they chose to play here at the U of A. They have done great things for our program over the last four years, and we can’t thank them enough for their performance.”

Due to injury, Devon Wharf was replaced by sophomore Ashley Jett in the net after the start of the game, and the sophomore registered one save for the afternoon.

Arizona out shot the Beavers 9-7 on the day, and both teams tallied 13 fouls. The Wildcats had two yellow cards and a red card on the afternoon in the high-tempo game.

“This game was really typical of our season,” Oyen added of the game, “We had performances that we were proud of, though the results didn’t necessarily reflect that. I’m very proud of how we were able to bounce back today after Friday’s tough loss. We came out today, ready to play. Unfortunately, our season doesn’t show how well we actually played. There were times that we played some very good soccer, we just couldn’t find the back of the net.”
