TUCSON , Ariz. ?C?Arizona womenˇ?s soccer defeated the Creighton Bluejays, 2-0, Friday night at Murphey Field at Mulcahy Stadium.

Arizona scored two minutes into the game, off a corner kick by Jasmine Namdar that was headed into the goal by Jasmin Day.??Dayˇ?s goal was her team-leading fourth of the year.

?

The win improves the Cats to 5-4-0, while the loss drops the Jays to 5-4-0.

?

ˇ?It was nice to score two minutes into the game,ˇ± head coach Dan Tobias said.? ˇ?It was a sign of good things to come.ˇ±

For the next 40 minutes the score remained at 1-0, but not by a lack of effort from the Wildcats.?.

The Cats had several opportunities to score but could not put the ball in the net.? With 10 seconds remaining in the half, Leila Amini took a ball deflected off the crossbar and delivered it to Karina Camacho inside the goal box for a goal.? Camachoˇ?s goal was her second of the year.

The second half had no scoring, but again the Cats had several opportunities; the Cats out-shot the Jays 14-4 ?C over the course of the contest.

Freshman goalkeeper Danielle Nicolai recorded her second collegiate shutout.? Of the three shots on goal the Jays had, Nicolai saved them all.

Up Next:?On Sunday, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m. the Wildcats conclude the Four Points by Sheraton Tucson University Plaza Wildcats Classic by hosting San Diego State.
