Ramos Completes Round One at NCAA Golf

TUCSON - University of Arizona Wildcat women's golf senior Margarita Ramos completed round one at the NCAA Championships on Tuesday. Held Tuesday-Friday, May 22-25 and hosted by Vanderbilt University, the four-round event will take place at Legends Club North Course in Franklin, Tenn. The course is a par 72 over 6,451 yards.

Ramos teed off with Rocio Sanchez Lobato of Georgia and Gabby Dominguez of Texas Tech at 8:28 a.m. CT on Tuesday. Ranked No. 85 in the current Golfstat poll, she finished in a 15-way tie for 70th place. Ramos collected an opening round of 76 (+4), including two birdies.

No. 2 Alabama leads the team race on day one with a round of 286 (-2). No. 27 Virginia sits in second place with a 288 (E). No. 8 Duke rounds out the top three with a 289 (+1). No. 1 UCLA and No. 5 Arizona State are the highest-ranked Pac-12 teams in a tie for fifth place (292, +4). Portland Rosen of Virginia leads the individual race with an opening round of 66 (-6).

Play will resume at 12:45 p.m. CT on Wednesday for the individuals.
