The Arizona women's soccer team (9-11, 2-7) lost to the Washington Huskies (14-5-1, 5-3-1) 2-1 Sunday afternoon which was both teams season finales. The Wildcats ended the its regular season on a three-game losing streak.
The Huskies got out to an early lead when forward Veronica Perez scored her 12th goal of the season when she shot from the right side and shot lower left corner. The score remained 1-0 heading into halftime.
Washington scored its second goal during the 62nd minute when Jane Mitchell hit Katie Deines off a rebound and shot inside the box. The goal was Deines was her sixth of the season.
The Wildcats got on the board in the 82nd minute when LEILA AMINI passed the ball to Analisa Marquez who shot inside the box lower left corner. It was the first goal of the season for Marquez and fifth for her career.
Senior Chelsea McIntyre played the first 39 minutes giving up one goal before being replaced by freshman ASHLEY JETT. A native of College Station, Texas, Jett saw her first action of the year allowing one goal and registering three saves.
