As member of the 2006 United States Ryder Cup team, the PGA Tour of
Furyk, a member of the
A Mary J. Roby Academic Award winner in 1989 and 1991, Furyk was inducted into the
Of Furyk's donation to his alma mater, $20,000 will go directly to the men's golf program. The remaining $100,000 will be used in conjunction with the PGA of America's Growth of the Game initiative, "Golf: For Business and Life." The initiative introduces golf to college juniors and seniors, familiarizes them with the game, and teaches them how to use golf as a business tool.
One of the most generous former UA student-athletes, Furyk also has made donations following his four previous Ryder Cup and four Presidents Cup appearances.
Each player and captain of the 2006 U.S. Ryder Cup team contributed $200,000 to various charitable categories. The PGA of America established this plan in 1999, where the organization will distribute a total of $2.6 million to charities and universities throughout the nation on behalf of the
