Tucson , Ariz. ?C The Arizona volleyball team (12-12, 2-10 Pac-10) suffered its seventh-straight loss, falling to No. 4 Washington (21-1, 10-1 Pac-10) in three games on Thursday night in McKale Center.? Game scores were 30-28, 30-18 and 30-20.? Senior Dominique Lamb posted three block assists in the match to break the 18-year-old Arizona career block assists record (436), and is now first all-time in school history with 438 career block assists.

ˇ?For Washington, it all starts with their serves,ˇ± head coach Dave Rubio said. ?ˇ?They put pressure on us by serving and passing well. We couldnˇ?t score because we didnˇ?t put ourselves in a good position by not passing the ball well.ˇ±

As a team, Arizona hit .198 (42-18-121) from the floor, and finished with four blocks and two service aces.? Washington hit .389 (53-11-108), and posted 8.5 blocks and four service aces.

Individually for the Wildcats, freshman Tiffany Owens led the way with 19 kills.? Junior Randy Goodenough posted seven kills and sophomore Brittany Leonard finished with a season-high tying 12 digs.? Freshman Paige Weber collected her 1,000th assist of the season and finished with 36 assists in the match.

The Wildcats challenged the Huskies in game one, as Washington held a slim 12-11 lead.? UW then used a mini 5-1 scoring run to gain some ground and take a 17-12 lead.? Arizona cut the deficit to 24-21, and trailed just 25-24.? The two teams traded points from there, but the Huskies went up 29-26, a lead that turned out to be enough distance at the end for a 30-28 win.? UW hit .419 (22-4-43), as Arizona finished with a .381 mark (19-3-42).

Lamb posted two block assists in the first game to pass Kelly Waageˇ?s career record mark of 436 block assists.? Waage ended her career at Arizona in 1989, and her school record of 436 block assists stood for 18 years until Thursday night.

Arizona took its first lead of the match at 4-3 in game two, but UW countered with a 11-2 run to take a commanding 14-6 lead.? The Huskies expanded their lead to 21-11, and cruised the rest of the way behind a .417 hitting percentage (18-3-36) for a 30-18 win.? Arizona hit .100 (12-8-40) in game two.

In game three, Washington held an early 8-4 advantage, but the Wildcats fought to cut the deficit to 12-10.? The Huskies outscored Arizona 7-3 from there to lead 19-13 and ended the game with four-straight points for a 30-20 win to complete the sweep.

Arizona will host Washington State tomorrow at 8 p.m. in McKale Center.
