TUCSON, Ariz. - The first day of the Wildcat Diving Invitational was completed Friday with Aubrey Bush from New Mexico winning the 3-meter event and Riley McCormick of Arizona State taking the 1-meter event for the men’s side.


Arizona’s Ainsley Oliver took first in the women’s preliminaries with a score of 304.25.  She ended the day with a runner-up finish in the finals totaling a score of 299.60. 


Another Wildcat women’s diver, Samantha Pickens took seventh in the preliminaries after scoring a 265.70.  In the finals she scored a 298.20 to place fourth overall.


Andres Guerra placed seventh in the consolation finals for the Wildcats, scoring a 265.60. 


Sean Clark and David Austin also competed for the Wildcats and finished with scores of  226.05 and 185.65 respectively.  Wildcat Alexa Wollach competed as well and scored 206.60.


Tomorrow, in day two action the women will dive off the 1-meter and the men off the 3-meter with events starting at 11 a.m.
