The 30-minute pre-game show airs at 6 p.m. prior to the network’s Arizona Diamondbacks/Seattle Mariners telecast. Coach Stoops will make an appearance to talk about FSN Arizona’s upcoming “In My Own Words ?- Mike Stoops” documentary that FSN reporter Sean Mooney produced, and to also look ahead to the 2006 football season.
“In My Own Words ?- Mike Stoops” is a 30-minute program that interviews Stoops about his life, family and career and it debuts Monday, July 3, at 9:30 p.m. on
This is the third “In My Own Words” program FSN Arizona has produced, coming on the heels of shows about Diamondbacks stars Luis Gonzalez and Brandon Webb. A similar show about Lute Olson is in the works and should hit the air sometime in the next few months.
Meantime, in Tucson, nearly all returning and new Arizona football players are in the midst of summer workouts with strength coaches -- sessions in the Estes Family Strength and Conditioning Center, outside in Arizona Stadium climb-a-thons, and in voluntary smaller play-action drills on the practice field.
The Cats will officially report for preseason camp the first week in August. UA opens the season in Tucson on Sept. 2 against Brigham Young in a game to be shown nationally on TBS Sports.
