TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona's nationally ranked football team is idle this weekend, so men's basketball can take center stage for the Red-Blue Game on Sunday, Nov. 1.
The annual intra-squad scrimmage will begin at 1 p.m. MST in McKale Center. New head coach Sean Miller and the 2009-10 edition of the Wildcats take to the court for the first time. It marks the first of three exhibition opportunities before the UA opens the regular season on Nov. 15 vs. Northern Arizona.
Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and fans in attendance will have the opportunity to pick up the 2009-10 Arizona men's basketball schedule poster, schedule card and schedule magnet while supplies last. The Arizona Adaptive Athletics wheelchair basketball team members will scrimmage on Lute and Bobbi Olson Court. The first half will start at noon and the second half will be played during halftime of the Red-Blue Game.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for youth with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the UA Disability Resource Center. All seats are general admission. Tickets are available at the McKale Center Ticket Office, by phone at (520) 621-CATS or on line at www.arizonawildcats.com.
