The Arizona men's basketball team was awarded a No. 3 seed and will face No. 14 Utah State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Boise, Idaho, the NCAA announced today.
The Wildcats (27-6) will play the Aggies (24-7) on Thursday, March 17, at 5:20 p.m. (MST).
Arizona is in the Chicago regional, and faces a possible second-round matchup against the winner of No. 6 Louisiana State (20-9) and No. 11 Alabama-Birmingham (21-10) on Saturday, March 19.
Arizona and Utah State have faced each other three times in their school histories, with the Aggies winning all three. The last time the schools played each other was in 1964. Lute Olson is 1-0 in his career against Utah State.
