On Arizona's No. 8 seed in the Mideast Region:

"Well, I am happy that we are in the tournament. We thought that we would get a higher seed because we are a better team than a year ago, and we have a much better record this year. But, the bottom line is that we have to go out there and take care of business."

"At this point we can't do anything about the seeding, and now it is all about playing well in order to advance. We are good road team, and we just have to go one game at a time."

    On the UA's first-round opponent:

"Kent is an excellent team, and they have a very good record. Kent is very well-coached and extremely competitive, and it is going to be a very good game."

    Pac-10 teams in the tournament:

"I am glad that we got four Pac-10 teams (Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, Arizona) in the tournament, but I am disappointed for the Pac-10 because I don't think the conference was treated the way it should have been. Now, each team just has to do something about it by going out and winning."

    Arizona's potential second-round opponent Tennessee:

"I have coached twice against Pat Summitt in the NCAA tournament. She has a team with great freshmen and great returning players. They are a very athletic team, and they are very smart. But, we have to win in the first round to even have the opportunity to play Tennessee."
