Softball Completes Third Day of Red Raider Classic

The No. 2 softball team completed the third day of the Red Raider Classic with a 1-0, win over Texas Tech. The Cats ended the tournament with a perfect 5-0, record.

Arizona's only run came in the first inning. Texas Tech pitcher Erin Crawford walked freshman Autumn Champion. Champion reached second off of a single by senior Lovie Jung and eventually scored by an error by Texas Tech left fielder Amanda Douglas.

The win marked the 15th victory for freshman pitcher Alicia Hollowell. Hollowell struck out nine batters and gave up two hits.

Arizona has had 11 consecutive shutouts. The Cats hit 12 home runs in the tournament and had a .366 team batting average.

The Cats continue action next weekend when they travel to Fullerton, Calif., for the annual Kia Klassic from March 13-15.
