TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona Wildcat men's golf team carded a 295 in the final round of the National Invitational Tournament to remain in sixth place with a final total of 882. The tournament, hosted at Omni Tucson National Golf Course is a par-72, 7,219-yard course. San Diego State finished with a final of 859 (-5) for the team win.

UNLV was one stroke behind San Diego State, finishing with an 860 (-4) for second place, while SMU rounded out the top three with a final of 863 (-1). In the individual race, San Diego State's J.J. Spaun remained in first place after carding a final round of 68 for a total of 201 (-15). BYU's Zachary Blair finished four strokes behind Spaun with a final total of 205 (-11). Teammate Justin Keiley, UNLV's Kevin Penner, Memphis' Jonathan Fly, SMU's Marc Sambol finished in a tie for third place with totals of 214 (-2).

For the Wildcats, sophomore Erik Oja led the squad, finishing the final round in a four-way tie for eighth place with a third round of 73 for a final of 216 (E). Junior Juan Pablo Hernandez finished two strokes behind Oja with a 218 (+2) for a tie for 16th, along with senior Philip Bagdade, who competed in the event as an individual. Rounding out the top-20, freshman Alex McMahonfinished one stroke behind Hernandez and Bagdade with a final total of 219 (+3).

Up next, men's golf travels to San Diego, Calif. for the Barona Collegiate Cup, which starts on Thursday, March 22.
