TUCSON - University of Arizona sophomore receiver Austin Hill has been named to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List, it was announced by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation on Tuesday. With UA senior Dan Buckner already on their watch list, the award is presented annually to college football's outstanding receiver.
Hill, a native of Corona, Calif., played in a reserve roll against Toledo, took over starting duties at the slot receiver position for the Oklahoma State game and has paced the Wildcats to a 3-0 start this season. He averages 106.3 yards per game and 18.8 yards per catch. Hill has a total of 17 receptions for 319 yards and one TD.
He has turned in a pair of 100-yard receiving games to open up the season, ripping the Rockets for 139 yards and a score before cutting up the Cowboys for 125 more yards. Most impressive is that Hill's 17 catches for 319 yards average out to a whopping 18.8 yards per reception, and 13 have resulted in a first down or touchdown. Hill is currently second behind USC All-American Marqise Lee for the Pac-12 lead in receiving yards per game (106.3).
The Wildcats will make their first road trip of the season and open Pac-12 play facing the Oregon Ducks on Sat., Sept. 22, at Autzen Stadium. The game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. PT and air on ESPN.
