TUCSON--The Auburn Tigers remained unbeaten at 9-0 with a 10-hit victory over South Florida (3-7-1) in the first game of the Pepsi Arizona Softball Classic.

Auburn scored an unearned run in the first to take a 1-0 lead. Shannon Anderson reached on an error by USF second baseman Rachel Williams, stole second and scored on Ashley Moore's single to center.

The Tigers extended the lead in the fourth with three successive singles, a ground-ball RBI by Jodie Van Ooyen and a two-run double by Lindsey Chitwood to make it 4-0.

South Florida scored in the fifth on singles by Carmela Liwag and Rachel Williams, a sac bunt by Stephanie Roberts and a wild pitch by Auburn's Kristin Keyes. The Bulls added another run in the seventh when Williams walked and later scored on a bad throw following Shelly Riker's single.

But the Tigers answered quickly. Kasey Angulo's two-run home run pushed the score to 6-1 in the bottom of the inning, then a triple by Deni Ziegler and a single by Martha Phillips made it 7-1.
