The Arizona women's soccer team (8-7, 1-3) fell to the fifth ranked Stanford Cardinal (15-0-1, 5-0) 3-1 in Palo Alto, Calif. The Wildcats are currently on a three-game losing streak.
The Wildcats and Cardinal were notched 0-0 for the first half. The first goal game came in the 49th minute when Lindsay Taylor scored her 13th goal on the season.
The score remained 1-0 until the 62nd minute when Teresa Noyola scored her fifth goal of the season when she received a pass from Kristin Stannard and shot far post from the left side.
In the 67th minute the Cardinal increased their lead to 3-0 when Taylor scored her second goal of the game when she received a pass and shot far post.
The Wildcats got on the board during the 74th minute when sophomore KARINA CAMACHO scored on a penalty shot to cut into the Stanford lead. For Camacho, it was her fifth goal of the season and seventh in her career.
Redshirt junior Chelsea McIntyre had a career high in saves with 15. Her previous high was 11 in a game against Hawaii on Sept. 10, 2006. For the season McIntyre has 82 saves.
The Wildcats will try to rebound on Sunday when they face the California Golden Bears at 1:00 p.m. at Edwards Stadium.
