Throughout the Arizona Wildcat women's basketball season, freshman Candice Warthen will keep a weekly blog about life as a Pac-10 freshman. Check back for more updates from Candice!

Hello Wildcat Fans!

The Washington schools!! Last weekend we played University of Washington and Washington State, coming off a three-game losing streak. We knew that we really needed to win these two games and that's exactly what we did. Coming into the game on Thursday, everyone was prepared and ready to do their job as individuals. It was a great game to watch and we won the game by two points. UW had the last possession but they didn't have enough time to take advantage of it. This was a great win for us because we really needed to get back on track and we had to take care of home court. I had a pretty solid night on Thursday, finishing with 10 points and two steals with great defense!

On Saturday, we came into the game with the same mentality as Thursday. Our focus and hard work paid off and we got another much needed win. We are now in a tie for third place with USC in the Pac-10 standings. This was another great night for us and Ify Ibekwe and Davellyn Whyte played outstanding. Ify was two steals away from her first triple double. Having her and Davellyn show up on the same night is very positive for us. If this continues to happen, then our opponents are going to be in trouble (LOL). Everything went as planned for us last weekend. Next we have the L.A. schools on the road on Thursday at USC and Saturday at UCLA.

Wish us luck!!

Thanks for reading my blog! Go Cats!
