The University of Arizona gymnastics program is excited to introduce GymCat Corner, a place where Arizona gymnastics fans can read weekly blogs written by the GymCats themselves.

Starting this week, GymCat Corner will be updated on a weekly basis with a blog written by a different gymnast, allowing Wildcat fans to get to know the team better. Each blog will be an informal look into the Arizona program, giving insight into the progress of the team and detailing what it is like to be a student-athlete.

Wildcat fans can access each blog by clicking on the GymCat Corner headline banner at the top of the gymnastics homepage. Here, each blog will be archived so that fans will be able to go back and read each one throughout the season.

The first installment of GymCat Corner is “Beamer’s Blog”, written by sophomore Briana Bergeson, who is affectionately known by her teammates as “Beamer”. Bergeson recaps the first couple of months of the fall semester, highlighting some of the fall workouts and what each gymnast has been working on to prepare for the upcoming 2007 season.

As she puts it, “I can see so much potential in every girl and the team is as close as ever.”
