TUCSON , Ariz. ?C?The No. 3 womenˇ?s Stanford Cardinal swim team knocked off the No. 4 Arizona swim team today in Palo Alto, Calif. The score of the meet was 174-126. The loss drops the Cats record to 9-1. The win improves the Cardinals record to 4-1.

Starting the meet off on a good note for the Wildcats was the team of Haliey DeGolia, Annie Chandler, Ana Agy and Lacey Nymeyer when they finished in first place (3:37.45) in the 400 yard medley relay.

?

In the 1000 yard free, Arizonaˇ?s Joni Keith (9:58.70) came in second place while Susanna Helms finished in third with a time of 10:00.15.

?

Senior Lacey Nymeyer finished in first place in the 200 yard free when she swam a time of 1:47.33. Anna Turner came in third place (1:49.25)

DeGolia kept the first place finishes coming when she swam a time of 53.76 in the 200 yard backstroke. Chandler continued the streak when she came in first place (1:01.27) in the 100 yard breaststroke.

Nymeyerˇ?s time of 50.06 in the 100 yard free was fast enough for a first place finish. The next event of the day was the 200 yard backstroke and Arizonaˇ?s Caitlin Iversen came in second place with a time of 1:59.55.

Nymeyer continued her streak of first place finishes when her time of 4:50.68 was fast enough for the top spot in the 500 yard free. Helms time of 4:52.07 was good enough for second.

The last event of the day was the 400 yard free relay and the womenˇ?s team of Schluntz, Kathrine Raatz, Chandler and Leone Vorster came in second place with a time of 3:24.08.

At the diving well, Arizonaˇ?s Allison Scaife finished in fourth (253.05) in the 1 meter dive. Senior Holly Kast came in third (246.22) at the 3 meter dive

Up Next: The Wildcats will travel with the men up to Tempe when they face in-state rival Arizona State on Feb. 16. The meet starts at 1 p.m.
