Two Wildcats Lose Consolation Matches

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. ?- Arizona sophomore Kasia Jakowlew and freshman Camelia Todorova both lost consolation quarterfinal matches at Palm Desert Classic in Palm Springs, Calif., Sunday.


Jakowlew, who was the only Wildcat to win a non-consolation match over the long weekend, lost a quarterfinal consolation match to UCLA’s Laura Gordon 6-4, 6-3.  Jakowlew advanced through the first and second rounds of consolation play with default victories.


Todorova, who won first and second round consolation matches, lost her quarterfinal match to Sylvia Kosakowski of Pepperdine 6-3, 6-2. 


Arizona will see its last action of the fall when members of the team will travel to Hawaii for the Hawaii Invitational Nov. 11-13.
