TUCSON - University of Arizona Wildcat women's basketball will open the 2010-11 season with an exhibition game again Grand Canyon. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at McKale Center, on Tues., Nov. 2.

Wildcat games can be heard live on KTUC AM 1400. All broadcasts will start 15 minutes prior to tip-off for the pre-game show. Entering their third season calling Arizona Wildcat women's basketball games will be Derrick Palmer (play-by-play) and Alysiah Bond (color). Live stats and a live video stream of Tuesday's game are available at ArizonaWildcats.com.

Arizona Wildcat women's basketball returns four starters and three additional letterwinners for the 2010-11 season. A strong senior class includes All-Pac-10 honoree Ify Ibekwe, Soana Lucet and Amanda Pierson. Now a sophomore, Davellyn Whyte returns as the defending Pac-10 Freshman of the Year. Sharp-shooter junior Brooke Jackson, who started 20 games in 2009-10, is also back to bolster the Wildcat offense.

Third-year head coach Niya Butts welcomes four new players to the court for the 2010-11 season. Junior transfer Taylor Dalrymple and freshmen Erica Barnes and Candice Warthen are new to the squad while junior Shanita Arnold will take to the court after sitting out 2009-10 because of NCAA transfer rules.

The Grand Canyon Antelopes, under fourth-year head coach Trent May, finished with an overall record of 19-8 and a conference record of 13-3, good for a second-place finish in the Pacific West Conference, in 2009-10. Grand Canyon returns two starters and welcomes two freshmen.

Key contributors for the Antelopes include senior guard Samantha Murphy, the 2009-10 PacWest Player of the Year and the GCU All-Time Leading Scorer, and senior guard Rosalyn Nelson, the GCU All-Time Leader in Assists and Steals.
