On Sunday, Oct. 21 the Cats head to Corvallis, Ore. for a match up with Oregon State (10-4-1) at 1:00 p.m. at Paul Lorenz Field at Patrick Wayne Valley Stadium.

Previous Game: On Friday, the Cats dropped a 4-1 decision to No. 2 Stanford (12-1-1) at Murphey Field at Mulcahy Stadium. Arizona (5-7-3) scored its only goal of the night in the 74th minute of action, courtesy of sophomore forward Candice Ose i-Agyemang. Osei-Agyemang was one on one with Stanford goalkeeper, Aly Gleason, and placed the ball in the upper left corner of the net to score her second goal of the season. Junior Jazmin Ponce led the Wildcats in shot attempts with five and teammate Ana-Maria Montoya behind her with two.

Noting the Ducks: Oregon (6-7-2) traveled to the University of Utah and dropped a 1-3 decision to the Utes. Senior Scout Libke leads the Ducks in shot attempts with 43 and 19 on goal ranking her number seven in the Pac-12. Forward freshman Kristen Parr has scored seven of Oregon’s goals in the 15 matches played this season. Goalkeeper Abby Steele has registered 52 saves for the Ducks ranking her at number six in the Pac-12.

Noting the Beavers: Oregon State (10-4-1) traveled to Colorado this past weekend and shut out the Buffaloes 2-0 earning their 10th win of the 2012 season. Jenna Richardson leads the Beavers in total shot attempts with 37 and teammate Megan Miller behind her with 28. Both Richardson and Miller lead the Beavers with five goals apiece so far this season. Goalkeeper Sammy Jo Prudhomme has 55 saves in eight games played while teammate goalkeeper, Audrey Bernier-Larose, has registered 26 saves in seven games played.

Attendance Record: For last week’s home match against Stanford, fans were asked to wear pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. A 2012 season record and second largest all-time attendance of 1,021 fans attended the match to honor survivors and loved ones who have lost the battle to breast cancer. In 2005, the match against in-state rival, Arizona State, attracted a record of 1,208 fans to Murphey Field at Mulcahy Stadium.

Leading the Pac: Junior Jazmin Ponce leads the Pac-12 in both shots and shots on goal for the sixth week in a row registering a total of 71 shots with 35 on goal in 15 games played. Ponce also leads the Wildcats with seven goals and two assists.

Kaufman Ranked No. 1: After three weeks of being ranked second in the Pac-12, junior Gabby Kaufman moved up to the number one spot registering 78 saves. Kaufman has led the Wildcats to three shutout games against Northern Arizona, Florida International and Loyola Marymount.

Honoring Lexe: Before every match, Arizona wears a pre-game warm-up shirt with the No. 13 in honor of Lexe Selman, a member of UA's 2012 signing class. Selman recently finished up her fourth round of chemotherapy treatment for Leukemia, which she was diagnosed with on April 20 of this year. Vowing to Selman and her family to keep her dreams of playing at the collegiate soccer level alive, Arizona head coach Lisa Oyen has promised to hold a roster spot and number until she is able to play.
