TUCSON, Ariz. ?- Senior middle blocker Kristina Baum is expected to miss the remainder of the 2006 season after suffering an injury to her right knee last Friday in the first game of Arizona’s 3-0 victory over Bradley in the Four Points Sheraton Wildcat Classic in Tucson.

“Obviously we feel very bad for Kristina,” head coach David Rubio said. “She’s played an important role for us over the course of her career, and I know she was excited for her senior season. To lose someone with not only her experience but the leadership she has on the floor as well, it’s going to be pretty tough to replace.”

Baum, who was averaging 1.59 kills, 1.50 digs and one block per game for the No. 24 Wildcats prior to injury, has not redshirted during her career at UA and will explore all avenues in hopes of gaining back her senior season.
