"I thought our defense was better in this game. We were tracking and we went to full court press at times. Our team did better at talking to each other then they usually do. We need to cut down on the turnovers. Besides that, we controlled the tempo of the game. This win will give us the confidence that we need. I told the players that every game needs to be on t.v. because we seem to play better when we're on t.v."
"Our next game is a non-conference game. Santa Barbara is a good team. They have a lot of big players on their team. We need to realize that every game is huge. We lost our last non-conference game and we want to come into this one prepared."
On Guard Candice Allen
"She was out for awhile with a concussion. It's good for us to have her back. She gives us the quickness that we need. Having her back gives our team a completely different look. Every possession and every steal I see her confidence growing."
On Forward Elizabeth Pickney
"This game will give her confidence. I've been telling her that she needs to be more active in the paint. Today she improved, she had a lot of offensive rebounds. She created shots for herself. She hasn't scored like this in awhile. She had 24 points which is incredible."

"Candice Allen's aggressive play and penetration drew the defense and helped our offense."
"I was very active offensively because I went to the boards. We played well as a team with our guards penetrating. As of now, we play together more than in the past. In practice, scrimmaging a lot helped us know how to play better together."
Sophomore Guard Candice Allen
"I thought that I felt really good. I don't keep track of my points, but when they told me that I got my record, I was excited."
"Coach said, 'Attack! Attack! Attack!' and I said okay."
"This gives us huge confidence. We are on a roll now."
"I would have to say that I am at 96% now with this game."
"We changed our defense every play to keep them confused. We kept their heads spinning. I could tell that they were frustrated. They played really good as a team."
"All of our deflections on defense helped our offense get the fast breaks."
Washington Head Coach: June Daugherty
"We failed to compete for 40 minuets today. We played hard in the first- half, but in the second-half Dee-Dee (Wheeler) did an excellent job at breaking down our defense and making plays."
"When our defense gets broken down it makes it tough on us. That is what happened today, we were unable to makes the big stops we need to get a victory."
"Coming out of the second half, Arizona was effective at using different defensive sets and were successful at changing their defense and putting pressure on us."
"I feel our team did a good job rebounding against a very athletic team. We lagged in transition and played hard in segments and not for the complete game."
"I give Arizona credit for coming out and executing a tough transition defense. We didn't give 100% on getting back on defense which led to many fast-break opportunities for Arizona."
Washington Players Quotes
"In the second half, we let the game get away from us. Arizona made good rotations and gave it to us. We need to play 40 minutes and we didn't do that tonight."
"I just think if I can bring it and be intense, it will rub off on my teammates. It's hard to do every night, but I need to try and play hard."
