TUCSON-- Texas A&M junior pitcher Lindsay Wilhelmson limited South Carolina to just one hit in leading the Aggies to a 5-0 win Saturday afternoon.

Despite striking out just one hitter, Wilhelmson was dominating all day as she allowed just one hit, a first inning single, and alowed just two Gamecock baserunners to advance as far as second base.

Texas A&M took an early lead in the top of the first inning. Aggie lead-off hitter drew a walk from USC starter Stacey Johnson after a 12-pitch at-bat. She was driven home one batter later on Selena Collins' 12th home run of the season, a two-run shot to center field.

The Aggies added to the lead with a single run in the second inning. Crystal Martin reached base after being hit by a pitch, stols second base, and scored on a two-out single by Cheryl Fowler that put A&M up 3-0.

Martin keyed another rally in the top of the sixth, as she tallied her ninth home run of the season, a solo shot to left field. One out later, Jennifer Davis doubled to left and was replaced by pinch runner SherahAtkins. Atkins scored on the next play as Cheryl Fowler singled to left field, making the score 5-0, but was thrown out attempting to reach second base.

The loss dropped USC (39-19) into the loser's bracket, with a quick turnaround to face Cal State Northridge immediately following. A&M moved into the winner's bracket final against host Arizona at 2 p.m. Saturday.

A&M Coach Jo Evans:
"I'm really happy with the way our team played. We had great contributions from many of our players. Lindsay held them to one hit, our infield played well. We had a few errors but I'm not worried."

Aggie Selena Collins:
"It was definitely nice to come out and feel comfortable. I was able to set the tone for the team (home run) and I felt really good about that."
