OJAI, Calif. - The University of Arizona men's tennis team concluded play at the 2011 Pacific-10 Championships today after dropping both doubles matches in the Doubles Championship draw at Libbey Park in Ojai, Calif.
"Without our top guys competing in this event we had some tough results," said head coach Tad Berkowitz. "With that though I am proud of the effort these guys gave throughout the tournament."
In the first doubles match of the day for the Wildcats, senior Geoff Embry and freshman Andre Vidaller couldn't hold off the Washington pair of Kyle McMorrow and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan, falling 8-4. It was the first time the freshman-senior combination of Embry and Vidaller teamed up together this season.
In Arizona's second doubles match, freshman Mario Urquidi and sophomore Frank Chen dropped their third doubles match of the season, falling to the No. 1 seed of Bradley Klahn and Ryan Thacher of Stanford. Urquidi and Chen were topped 8-1 to conclude doubles play.
