TUCSON (AP) -- Arizona's Shawntinice Polk got her seventh double-double of the season and the Wildcats used an 18-3 spurt in the second half for a 70-54 victory over UCLA on Saturday.
The win was the 23rd straight for Arizona (14-4, 6-1) at McKale Center, tied with Georgia for the second-longest home streak in the country. Texas has a 27-game streak heading into tonight's game against Iowa State.
UCLA was led by the 15 points from Lisa Willis, who also tied her career high with nine rebounds. Noelle Quinn had 13 points, while Nikki Blue had 12.
UCLA (8-8, 3-4) led 39-36 after a Whitney Jones lay-up with 13:33 remaining in the second half before the Wildcats caught fire. After shooting 30 percent in the first half, as did the Bruins, Arizona heated up after Grzyb got things rolling for the Wildcats with a three-pointer.
Following a pair of free throws by CoCoa Sanford, Katrina Lindner and Grzyb made back-to-back threes for a 47-40 Arizona lead. Quinn broke the Wildcats' streak of 11 straight points, but Polk scored to put Arizona back ahead by seven. Shannon Hobson put an end to the 18-3 run with a turn-around jumper for a 54-42 advantage with 7:57 left.
Polk scored only two points during the big run, but she was a focal point of the offense, with UCLA clogging the middle against the Wildcat center, allowing her teammates to free themselves for open looks.
Polk's bucket with 5:53 left gave Arizona a 58-45 lead.
