After donning full gear in the morning practice, the players wore just shells and shorts for the evening session. Once again, the team worked through its basic daily drills.
During the seven-on-seven passing period, Willie Tuitama completed five of 10 pass attempts, two of which went for 20-yard gains to Syndric Steptoe and Anthony Johnson. The defense made its share of plays as well, with corners Antoine Cason and Devin Ross breaking up passes, and the entire unit shutting down a pass play where Tuitama was unable to get a pass off.
Adam Austin also received reps, completing three of five attempts. However, he was picked off by Wilrey Fontenot when the intended receiver ran the wrong route.
In the 11-on-11 team segment, the defense worked on its blitz packages while the offense worked on picking up the blitz. The defense again made its share of plays, with Tuitama only completing four of 10 pass attempts. The defensive line flexed its muscle on two particular occasions, with Lionel Dotson getting to Tuitama by himself on one play, then teaming up with Yaniv Barnett a few plays later to force sacks. Wilrey Fontenot also broke up a Tuitama pass.
The offense did not give in, however, as Tuitama was able to get some time in the pocket later in the drill. He found B.J. Dennard running behind the defense and hit the junior wide receiver 45 yards downfield. On the next play, Tuitama completed a pass to tight end Brandyn McCall for 10 yards across the middle.
Adam Austin and the second team offense got off to a quick start, as Travis Bell and Terrell Turner hauled in passes. However,

In the 7-on-7 passing period, Willie Tuitama completed six of 10 pass attempts, with Anthony Johnson hauling in two of the strikes. Adam Austin connected with receivers on three of seven passes, but one attempt was thrown over Brandyn McCall’s out-stretched hands and into the hands of safety Dominic Patrick, who returned it the other way. Tyler Lyon completed his only attempt to Terrell Turner.
In the 11-on-11 team segment, Tuitama completed seven of nine passes. The highlight of the day for the offense came when the sophomore quarterback found Turner behind the defense on a post pattern, connecting on a 48-yard touchdown strike. The defense had its moments as well, with Lionel Dotson pressuring Tuitama on one occasion, which would have been a sack if they play was not blown dead. With Adam Austin and the second team offense on the field, Donald Horton Jr. and Ricky Elmore forced
Chris Henry and Xaiver Smith each received the bulk of the carries during the team drill, while Chris Jennings, Glyndon Bolasky and Terry Longboms also got reps.
