Arizona Head Coach Sean Miller

"ASU came out terrific on offense. They were very smart and there were quite a few moments where they really made us pay. I've got to say, that their greatest performer tonight was Ty Abbott. He made a lot of great shots, and he was set up for some really great plays. He is definitely responsible for their win tonight. ASU was very smart to put him in the position to make those shots. We really had no answer for him. Arizona State really earned this win. They put our defense to the test and came out on top."

"Derek Glasser has spent four seasons being poised, and he did just that tonight. Also, Rihards Kuksiks made shots tonight that really made us pay. Even Jerren Shipp, who only had eight points hurt us, as they were both threes made late in the game."

"Even though we lost, there is still a very big difference between postgame today and our last game. We came out and tried to win it tonight, but really had no answers. We played hard and did what we needed to do. I have to give credit where credit is due."

"Seven for 16 behind the arc is very good for us, especially since we don't shoot them all that often. We put up a lot of good numbers today. We made it to the free throw line 32 times, and we made 24. Seventy-five percent is very good for us, but it still felt like we didn't make very many. We definitely need each and every one of those shots."

Freshman Forward Derrick Williams

On ASU guard Ty Abbott:

"Abbott had a great game. We had a hand in his face, but he just kept knocking shots down. He just started out really hot and that carried through the game."

Moving forward:

"We just gotta take it one game at a time. No we go up north to play Cal and Stanford. We just gotta take it to them like we did down here. We're playing pretty well on the road right now; we're just struggling at home a little bit."

On ASU's defense:

"It's more like a match-up zone, so when I go to the high post, there's always a man on me. So when I got the ball there, I usually had to kick it back out. The corners were open, and Nic (Wise) and Kyle (Fogg) made some big shots in the corner for us tonight."

On getting involved more in the second half:

"Coach told me to set more ball screens, which opened me up on the roll a lot of times. I just tried to get the ball to everyone, especially Nic and Kyle who made a lot of big shots."
