TUCSON ?C The Arizona menˇ?s tennis team was defeated today by the Arizona State Sun Devils 4-3 at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center in Tucson, Ariz.

?

It was another close loss for the Cats as they have lost three consecutive matches all by a score of 4-3.

?

Play started with Arizona taking court one on doubles and ASU countering by grabbing court three.? So the doubles point came down to court two which went in favor of the Sun Devils who were now up 1-0.

?

But the Cats were confident in their abilities to fight back in singles.? Andres Carrasco continued his solid play by picking up Arizonaˇ?s first point with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Juan Carlos Rebeza.

?

The Sun Devils made it 3-1 when Andres Arango beat Jay Goldman 7-5, 7-5 on court two.? So in order for Arizona to take the match, they couldnˇ?t afford any more defeats.

?

Things were turning in the Cats favor as they were up a break on all three remaining courts. But Pat Metham couldnˇ?t close out his opponent and dropped a tight match; 6-2, 3-6, 7-5.

?

Simultaneously on court six, Ravid Hazi defeated TJ Bellama 5-7, 7-5, 6-3, but it was just a case of too little too late.

?

To end the action today, Bruno Alcala beat Harry Skinner 3-6, 6-4, 7-5.

?

Next week the Cats will be out for revenge as they travel up to the Bay Area to take on Stanford and California. The teams played just two weeks ago, so each team will be very familiar with each other.
