TUCSON, Ariz. -University of Arizona Wildcat women's soccer team lost 1-0 to Missouri on Friday in the first match of the Sun Devil Desert Classic, hosted by Arizona State University.

In the first half, which was punctuated by a 30-minute lightening delay, Arizona (0-5-0) out-shot Missouri (6-1-0) 7-5, led by junior Ariel Boulicault'sthree shot attempts, and two were on-goal tries. Boulicault's four total shot attempts led the Wildcats, who were narrowly edged on shots by the Tigers 13-12. Both sides were even for on-goal attempts with seven apiece. Seven marks Arizona's second highest total on-goal shots this season.

"We talked to Ariel (Boulicault) today about having a bigger impact," said head coach Lisa Oyen. "We wanted to see more from her, and today she came out and took more shots that I think I've ever seen. One looked close to going in, and I have to credit Missouri's goalie for making a great save. Overall I'm very pleased that Ariel came out of the midfield and gave us some more presence on the attack."

Senior goalkeeper Ashley Jettgrabbed six saves on the day, including four in the second half. Jett's lone goal against came in the 75th minute when Tiger Brooke Williams took a feed from teammate Kelsey Blincow, and netted it into the bottom corner.

The Wildcats hope to snap the squad's ten-game losing streak in its next match, the final of the Sun Devil Desert Classic, facing Oklahoma on Sunday, September 11, at 11 a.m.
