Arizona Players:

Senior Center Channing Frye:

“Ivan (Radenovic) did such a good job tonight.  He really came through for us in the last two games.  I also have to give thanks to my teammates for giving me the ball.”

“We needed to step it up on our turnovers.  We had way too many turnovers in the beginning of the game.  That is when we want to establish ourselves in the first five minutes.  We should be able to go on a run then.  We had too many turnovers in the first half and at the start of the second half.”

“This leaves us well prepared for the Pac-10.  All we can do is ask for wins.  The only thing is we didn’t get better in tonight’s game.  We were making the same mistakes.”

“These games were good for us.  It showed us how teams are going to come out and play during conference play.  Arizona State is a veteran team.  They are hungry to make a name for themselves.  We have to do what we need to do in order to win.  We just can’t let up on the defensive end.”

Freshman Forward Bret Brielmaier:

“My teammates gave me a few hints about getting good positioning against the other team.  They were letting me know some little things that will help me out.”

“I’m real excited about Pac-10 play.  I can’t wait to go up to Stanford, and I’ve been told that Oregon is a crazy place to play.  It is going to be really special.”

Junior Guard Chris Rodgers:

“Offensively, we need to pick it up.  We have to be able to move the ball well so guys can get their shots.”

“My teammates and everyone trusts me to come in the game and have intensity.  I always try to bring my game.”

“This leaves us in good position for the Pac-10.  There is room for improvement.  We need to work hard to get better.  We will take it game by game.”

“Arizona State is a good team.  They will be ready to play.  We know that they will bring their A-game.  We have to play with the same intensity as we did in this tournament.”

“I am always thinking offensively.  I am an offensive player.  My team does a good job of finding me.  The coaching staff has given me the opportunity that I have been waiting for.  I haven’t had the opportunity until now.  I can do things that you don’t have to do with the ball.  The team just finds me open with good looks.  I just go out there and shoot the ball.”

Senior Guard Salim Stoudamire:

“We were a bit too fast at times, and it caused a lot of turnovers.  I didn’t like our effort tonight.  It was just average.  They (Richmond) shot fifty percent in the second half.  That wasn’t good defense.  We need to work on our defense and moving the ball.”
