TUCSON, Ariz.- The Arizona baseball team will have five of its upcoming Pac-10 Conference games televised by national media outlets. The entire three-games series against USC on April 29-May 1 will be televised nationally by a combination of ESPNU, ESPN and Fox Sports Net, the May 16 game at Arizona State has been selected for a regional broadcast on Fox Sports Net Arizona and the May 20 game at Stanford will be shown live on College Sports TV. The on-air talent for all of the televised games is still to be determined.

“The exposure that television brings for college baseball is very positive,” Arizona head coach Andy Lopez said. “To be one of the schools selected for broadcast is exciting for the program, our players and all of our fans. We’d really like to have the local fans pack Kindall Field and see the televised home games in person to show the rest of the country what Arizona baseball is all about.”

The recently launched ESPNU will start the Wildcat TV broadcasts with the opening game of the conference series in Tucson against the Trojans on April 29. FSN will show the Saturday match up between USC and UA on a taped-delay basis nationally and live on FSN Arizona. The weekend of coverage will wrap up with ESPN, the broadcast rights holder for the 2005 NCAA Super Regionals and College World Series, showing the finale of the three-game series on Sunday. The game time for the Sunday contest has been pushed back to a 12:30 p.m. first pitch to accommodate TV.

FSN Arizona recently announced that it will be airing the rivalry match up between the Sun Devils and Wildcats on May 16 live. The contest will be the finale of the three-game conference series between the two schools.

CSTV will complete the television coverage for Arizona in the regular season with the airing of the opening game of a three-game series against Stanford at Sunken Diamond in Palo Alto, Calif., on May 20

In addition to the television coverage, all of the remaining Pac-10 games will be broadcast live on the radio on 1290 AM The Source. Brian Jeffries, the voice of the Wildcats, will call the action live.
