Tucson, Ariz. - The University of Arizona women's gymnastics team has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2003 season. Coming off a trip to the National Championships in 2002, Arizona will look to make its 17th consecutive postseason appearance in 2003.
The Wildcats begin the 2003 season with a trip to Minnesota on Saturday, Jan. 11. Arizona returns home to Tucson to open its Pac-10 schedule on Friday, Jan. 17, against Oregon State. Arizona will host a total of five home meets in 2003, including meets against Arizona State (Jan. 31), Utah (Feb. 14), Stanford (Feb. 28) and Oklahoma (Mar. 14).
Arizona's road schedule includes a trip to Columbia, Mo., for the 2003 Cat Classic (Feb. 7-8), match-ups with Pac-10 rivals Washington (Jan. 24), UCLA (Feb. 21), and California (Mar. 9) and a match-up against the University of Denver (Mar. 22).
Arizona will return 13 gymnasts from last years squad, including 2002 All-Pac-10 gymnasts Monica Bisordi and Andi McCabe, 2002 Pac-10 beam champion Stevie Fanning and 2002 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year Katie Johnson. Head coach Bill Ryden, the 2002 Pac-10 and South Central Regional Coach of the Year, will enter his fifth season at the helm of the Arizona gymnastics program.
