AUSTIN, Tex. - Sophomore Isabelle Boineau shot 1-over par 73 and sits in a five-way tie for 7th place, helping Arizona into a tie for 7th place after day one of the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational on Friday afternoon at the University of Texas Golf Club.
Boineau finished her round with a birdie on the 9th hole as the Wildcats began from the 10th tee in the final pairings of the day. She also birdied the 3rd and 15th holes while carding four bogeys to finish at 1-over par. Shannon Fish of Texas and Sarah Zwartynski of Texas A&M hold the individual lead at 2-under par after carding rounds of 70.
Arizona shot 301 as a team and is tied with Northwestern for 7th place on the team leaderboard at 13-over par. UCLA is 7-over after day one and holds a one-shot lead over the host Longhorns while TCU is in 3rd place at 10-over par.
Junior Alejandra Llaneza shot 75 on the day to finish 3-over and is tied for 22nd place overall. Sophomore Margarita Ramos was one shot behind her teammate at 76 and is tied for 32nd place while both Nikki Koller and Sherlyn Popelka carded rounds of 77 and are tied for 41st overall. Ashley Malaska played as an individual and finished with a round of 88 on the day.
The Wildcats head out in the first set of pairings on Saturday morning, teeing off from the 1st hole at 8:15 a.m. (CT)
