McKale Center to Host 2011 NCAA Tournament First/Second Rounds

TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona's McKale Center was selected to host first- and second-round competition for the 2011 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, the NCAA Men's Basketball Committee announced Monday.

McKale Center will host games on Thursday and Saturday, March 17 and 19.

Other first/second round sites include Denver, Colo.; Tampa, Fla.; Washington, D.C.; Charlotte, N.C.; Chicago, Ill.; Cleveland, Ohio; and Tulsa, Okla. Regional sites include Anaheim, Calif.; New Orleans, La.; Newark, N.J.; and San Antonio, Texas. The 2011 Final Four will be played in Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.

2011 marks the 12th time that McKale Center will host NCAA Tournament action in its history. Previously, the facility has hosted the 1974 and 1980 West Regional, and first/second-round action in 1977, 1979, 1987, 1989, 1991, 1993, 1997, 2000 and 2005.
