Teeing Off: The Arizona women's golf team took a week off after placing sixth in the Pepsi-Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. on Oct. 17-19. Up next for the Wildcats is the Hooters Collegiate Match-Play Championship in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Nov. 2-4.
A Look At The Tournament: the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship is co-sponsored by Hooters of America, Inc. and the National Golf Coaches Association. The format will be a modified double-elimination. The invitations to the 16-teams were based on the 2003 NCAA Championship finished. Sunday, will include two rounds, Monday and Tuesday will include one round.
The Course: The 2nd Annual Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship will be contested at Barefoot Resort, Dye Course. The semi-private course is set along the Carolina Bays. Designed by Pete Dye, the course is created with a stunning design which features the infamous pitfalls to catch errant shots. The course is Par 72, 7,343 yard layout.
The Field: The field includes 16 participants, who will compete in a four round tournament. The first round matchups are: #1 Duke vs. #16 Purdue, #8 Florida vs. #9 Ohio State, #4 UCLA vs. #13 North Carolina, #5 Oklahoma State vs. #12 Texas, #3 Arizona vs. #14 Stanford, #6 Georgia vs. #11 Pepperdine, #7 California vs. #10 Southern Cal, #2 Auburn vs. #15 Arizona State
Schedule of Events: The tournament is set to tee-off Sunday, Nov. 2. The first round will be a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m and 1:00 p.m. will begin the 2nd round matches on Sunday afternoon. Monday morning's 3rd round matches will begin at 9:30 a.m. On Monday morning if the completion of the 2nd round is necessary, the 3rd round will begin 1 hour after the completion of the 2nd. Tuesday's final round will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.

The Double Threat: The Arizona Men's Golf team is participating in the Men's bracket at the Hooters Collegiate Match Plat Championship. The men are seeded 13th and begin play on Nov. 7-9 at the Barefoot Resort, Dye Course.
Living Up To The Hype: Sophomore Erica Blasberg, a pre-season All-American selection, won her third individual title of the season at the Pepsi-Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. Blasberg's first season victory came at the Mason Rudolph Invitational, followed by her second victory at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational.
The Best of Blasberg: The Pepsi-Stanford Invitational was Erica Blasberg's best three-rounds of golf in her career at Arizona. In all three rounds Blasberg shot under par, carding a 209 (-7) to tie her with Duke's Elizabeth Janangelo for first.
Winning Welch: Sophomore Whitney Welch's last two events, has improved her stroke average to second best on the team at 74.83. At the Pepsi-Stanford Invitational Welch shot her collegiate best, by posting 73-75-73--221(+5).
Fab Four: Erica Blasberg, Whitney Welch, Mar Garcia and Lani Elston are the consistant starters for head coach Greg Allen. Blasberg, has placed in the top-10 in all four tournaments, while the other three have combined for two top-10 performances. As a team, the four fab along with sophmore Cassandra Kirkland won the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational on Oct. 6-8 in Seattle, Wash.
