DaLee Leads UA to Win in Home Opener at Wildcat Classic

TUCSON, Ariz. (Sept. 3) - Junior middle blocker Marisa DaLee hit .368 and led all players with 11 kills as No. 15 Arizona swept Kent State, 15-11, 15-8, 15-7, in the second contest of the Embassy Suites Wildcat Classic Friday afternoon in Tucson.

Arizona picked up its second win in as many matches on the season, while Kent State dropped to 0-3.

DaLee, who set an Arizona single-season record with a .386 attack percentage in 1998, is hitting .432 through two matches this year. Sophomore outside hitter Jill Talbot had five kills, seven digs and a career-high four service aces. Sophomore setter Lauren Benward recorded 29 assists while replacing starter Dana Burkholder, who is with the U.S. Junior National Team at the World Championships in Canada.

The Golden Flashes were led by senior right-side hitter Kellie Nowak, who hit .381 with 10 kills.

San Diego and Sacramento State meet in the third match of the Classic at 5 p.m.
