BERKELEY, Calif. -- The No. 14 Arizona volleyball team (8-4, 0-2) dropped its second-straight match, a 3-2 nailbiter (30-20, 22-30, 16-30, 30-22. 13-15) at No. 16 California tonight. The Wildcats edged the Golden Bears .185 to .183 in hitting percentage and compiled a season-high 18 blocks compared to the 10 of Cal, but fell for the second time in as many nights to fall to 0-2 in Pacific-10 play.
Arizona was led by Kim Glass, who finished with a season-high 21 kills, 11 digs and seven blocks in just her second match of the season. Junior Jennifer Abernathy added 13 kills and nine digs, while sophomore Kristina Baum notched 10 kills and four blocks. Setter Stephanie Butkus tallied 45 assists and seven digs, while libero Kelli Mulvany had a team-high 14 digs.
UP NEXT: The Wildcats host No. 10 UCLA and No. 2 USC next weekend. Arizona faces the Bruins at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, and the Trojans at 7 p.m. next Saturday, Oct. 2.
