Arizona Coach and Player Quotes

Niya Butts- Arizona Head Coach
On game:
"It certainly helps to go out and shoot the way we did which I think we needed. Overall, it's a good team win. I'm really proud of the team for the way we went out and executed, the way we played. Really, we had signs of life that we hadn't had the last three ball games."

What was different than the past three losses:
I think we didn't do a good job of getting our transition going the last few games. We did a really good job of that tonight. We were getting some easy baskets in transition and hitting our lay-ups that we've been getting but haven't been scoring. We did a good job of executing our offense and making sure we got to players in the right place at the right time."

On importance of confidence boost:
"I think it's huge going into conference play. You get confidence in your team and they got confidence in each other and it's a feel good win before you start Pac-10 play."

On bench contributions:
"Reiko Thomas jumped in and did an awesome job off the bench. So did Amanda Pierson. Those two had great nights both in the first half and second half. I couldn't ask for anything for than that."

#12 Brooke Jackson - Sophomore Guard
On game:
"It just helps us get our swagger back per se. The past couple game we haven't been shooting as well. This game has really helped us step up as a team."

On confidence boost:
"I thought we needed it pretty bad. Our confidence was so low and we came more together as a team and family tonight. It's amazing to see everyone with a smile on their face."

On team chemistry:
"It just shows we're an overall team. We're there to help uplift our players. When one's down another one is there to step up."

#25 Reiko Thomas - Sophomore Guard
On game:
"It's going to help benefit us going into Pac-10 play because that's just a whole different level of basketball. I think that we've been practicing shooting a lot and working on making our shots."

"We've just played together and the past couple games we just haven't been really good. It's nice to know your bench can come in there and provide and be pretty balanced."
