“The difference between the impossible and possible lies in a person’s determination and dedication.”
Hi GymCat Fans!
October has flown by so quickly! The GymCats have been staying extremely busy this month, and not only in the gym, but outside of practice too. Practice has been going great, and I can’t tell you guys how talented our team is this year. Every day we go into the gym with determination to be the best we can be, and it is definitely paying off. Every girl is going above and beyond to make sure they are ready to be on the competition floor in January, so that is making us that much more anxious for season to start.
Earlier this month, Randi pulled us together and told us we will be doing a “Thriller” dance with all of the other athletes. The GymCats immediately got to work learning the dance so that we could teach the other athletes how to do it. We had such a blast learning it, but the best part was teaching the dance to some of the football players. Let me tell you, some of those guys had no rhythm at all! After everyone learned the dance, it was time to get into character. We all had our faces painted, our hair teased, and some cut up clothes making us look like zombies. It was such a fun experience getting together with all of the athletes to make this production. The video turned out so cute, so if you haven’t seen it, you definitely have to check it out!!
After the week of the thriller production, we had our annual photo shoot for the making of the poster. This is always a hectic, yet fun time for the team. We spent four hours taking pictures in various poses, and we also did a bunch of action shots. The photographer had to be on his “A” game to catch all those flying bodies at the perfect moment! Bill printed off a couple of the pictures the next day, and from what I can tell, they look amazing! I cannot wait to see the final product of the poster!
This past weekend was our team Halloween party. The team gets together for a dinner at Bill’s house; we dress in costumes, and do some pumpkin carving. The food was great but the company was even better! Every year there are awards for best costume and best pumpkin carving, but this year there was a twist. There were a couple ties in the different categories, and so the coaches decided to break the tie with an apple bobbing contest. It was CLASSIC! The girls were getting soaked, but we gymnasts love competition, so those girls were committed! It was such a great time to get together and do some team bonding!
I hope to see you guys at all our home competitions! Happy Holidays and BEARDOWN!
