Arizona Men's Tennis Players Set to Play for Invitational Doubles Championship

Ojai, Calif. - The University of Arizona men's tennis team (9-12) completed the third day of the Pac-10 Championships held in Ojai, Calif., on Saturday. The Wildcats competed in the invitational doubles play and backdraws of singles and doubles.

Sophomore Tom Lloyd and freshman Colin O'Grady defeated Alberto Francis and Rodrigo Grilli of UCLA, 8-5, to advance to the doubles finals of the invitational round on Sunday. They will face Prakash Amritraj and Daniel Langre of USC at approximately 12:30 p.m. PST.

In other action, sophomore Carl Hagman fell to Manuel Kost of Oregon in the singles backdraw round of 32, 7-5, 6-2. Lloyd was scheduled to face Christoph Palmanshofer of Washington Saturday morning in the same draw. In the doubles backdraw, sophomores Roeland Brateanu and Whi Kim were scheduled to play Sven Swinnen and Oded Teig of Oregon Saturday afternoon. There are currently no results available for these matches.

The Wildcats are back in action Sunday, April 28 for continuing invitational doubles play and consolation singles and doubles action.
