The Wildcats (31-10, 9-4 Pac-10) dropped their third straight game for the first time in 2007 and right-hander Preston Guilmet (8-1) was charged with his first loss of the year as the Bruins (23-17, 9-1 Pac-10) took the three-game series opener at Jackie Robinson Stadium.</FONT></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p><FONT size=2> </FONT></o:p></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT size=2><SPAN style="mso-tab-count: 1"> </SPAN>Guilmet, who entered the game leading the Pac-10 in ERA and strikeouts, allowed four runs on nine hits over seven innings and finished with nine strikeouts and two walks. The solid outing by the Wildcats&rsquo; ace wasn&rsquo;t enough however for a struggling <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Arizona</st1:place></st1:State> offense that was limited to just three runs in a complete game effort by Bruin starter Tyson Brummet.</FONT></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p><FONT size=2> </FONT></o:p></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-INDENT: 0.5in"><FONT size=2>Brummet (8-4), who has tossed a Pac-10-high six complete games this season, picked up his eighth win of the year after holding the Wildcats to just five hits over nine innings.
